Talon Training Group, LLC is a company formed by current Law Enforcement Trainers who believe in empowering citizens to defend themselves.  Our strong belief in your right to defend yourself within the constitution and laws of the State of Florida has led us to develop curriculum designed specifically for the average citizen. If you feel strongly about purchasing a firearm, pepper spray, civilian Taser, or other self defense item, you need training. We don't allow our law enforcement professionals to work in our community without training with the weapons they carry. Hold yourself to this same standard and come spend some time with us.

Our classes are designed to mentally and physically prepare you for a force on force encounter with the predators in our society. While the martial arts prepare you for a fight, you may never be prepared for that fight against those worst members of our society. The local dojo is a great place to get into shape and build confidence. However, for those who cannot dedicate a day a week for the rest of our lives, the law allows us to possess equalizers. These weapons can be useless without a proper understanding of their purpose, application and the expected results. Proper weaponry and a combat mindset can negate even the biggest size advantage a criminal may have over you.

Our instructors are passionate about showing you what we have learned in our careers in law enforcement and from training others.  Just our two owners have over 40+ years of Law Enforcement experience and we utilized only the best and most experienced instructors in the area. We keep an instructor to student ratio as high as possible to ensure you get the attention you need. We don't offer classes to provide you just a piece of paper, we offer REAL training. Please revist our site often as we post classes regularly. We host at least one local Concealed Carry Class each month and at least one Advanced Level Class. If you are interested in hosting a class at your place of business, we can arrange that also.

September Classes:

Concealed Carry/Firearms Safety Class

September 11th, Saturday 8:30-5:00

This comprehensive class will give you a certificate that will allow you to apply for your concealed carry permit. It does much, much more. We provide, hearing protection, eye protection, ammunition and firearms for you. We encourage you to you bring your own firearm and to shoot our wide array of concealed carry guns. We want you to shoot some of our guns to help you select your favorite so you purchase the right one for you. We don't sell guns so we only want you to choose what you want, not what we sell. We do force on force scenario training with simulated weapons, live fire and the most informative classroom instruction in the region. Our instructors not only cover, in detail, the statutes that govern use of force and concealed carry, but, explain them in laymens terms. We talk about and show all the concealed carry techniques and holsters. (Please wear a belt to help hold the holsters on.)

Classroom Registration Starts at 8:30 a.m.
Class Runs until approximately 5:00 p.m. with a lunch provided. We will provide lunch of Firehouse sandwiches, chips and drinks. If you want to bring something else, feel free.

Florida Permits and renewals are good for 7 years instead of five. The $75 state fee for seven years is about $11 a year ! ! ! In the Tallahassee area, you can have a Florida Permit in about 5 working days !

Directions to the Range!!!

Our classes are held at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy, just West of Tallahassee. Drive west from the Midway exit on Highway 90 about 6.5 Miles until you see Pat Thomas on the left and East Gadsden High School on the right. Enter Pat Thomas and stay on the main road all the way to the back of the property. As you cross the driving range, you will go down in a valley and up a hill. There you will see ranges on the left and a brick building on the right. Park somewhere on the right in the lot and meet in the lobby of the building. We will either meet you or post a sign telling you what room we are in. Please, no firearms, ammunition or other weapons in the classroom.
