To complete the process for obtaining a Concealed Carry Permit in Florida, just follow the guidelines below:

• Read and study the copy of Chapter 790, Florida Statutes.
• Have a passport-style, color photograph made.  In Tallahassee, the local CVS Pharmacy Photo Shop can make the passport photo and it costs $7.99 for two color photos as of 10-11-2008.
• Get verification of training that satisfies the training requirement. The application lists acceptable documents. Make a photocopy to send with the application as an original cannot be returned. Persons serving in the United States Armed Forces may submit a copy of their Military ID Card to satisfy the training requirement. Our certificate from Talon Training Group meets this requirement.  If you use another instructor, make sure their instructor certification number is on the certificate.  An affdavit from an instructor will work also.
• Get certified copies of court documents relating to any criminal charges against you.  Hopefully, you don't have this issue, but, if you do, go to the following link to learn more: http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/apply.html
• Visit your local Sheriff's Office and have them fingerprint you.  Find an agency that will submit your prints via Live Scan.  If you use the hard copy card, you will have to pay $3 to $5 for a fingerprinting fee, plus the $42 Live Scan fee to the Department of Agriculture.  A large number of these cards are not legible and you may get a letter telling you to start over.  The Live Scan does a much better job and the results are the same.  Don't worry, if the prints are refused, the local Sheriff's Office should redo them for no charge if you bring the letter the Dept. of Ag. sends you.  Please submit your application within 90 days of having your prints done on Live Scan, or they will make you redo them.
• Complete the application. Either print clearly with ink or type the information.
• In the presence of a notary, sign application. We will notarize your application at the class if our notary is present.  He generally is.
• Submit a check or money order for the license fee payable to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This fee is not refundable.
• Assemble everything:
  • Envelope
  • Fee
  • Photograph
  • Fingerprint card or proof that your fingerprints were submitted electronically by the sheriff's office using Live Scan (along with proof that you paid the sheriff's office or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for the service).  Include the reciepts and a copy of the scan.
  • Proof of training, (our certificate that is).
  • Certified court documents (if any)
  • Application with notarized signature
• Mail to Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, P.O. Box 6687, Tallahassee, FL 32314.   The enclosed envelope has the correct address on it.
